We’re a few months into the school year, and for many of us, the back to school excitement has worn off. We are knee deep in routines -- packing lunches, homework, and after school activities. For many kids, there’s also the rotation of familiar lunches packed to eat in the cafeteria.

Healthy Lunchbox Ideas

Of course, there are the usual go-tos like peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, and yogurts. In case you’re stuck in a lunch rut, here are some healthy lunchbox ideas. (And we’ll be honest, these could be great for adult lunches too.) We’ve included plenty of vegetarian-friendly ideas as well.
  1. Cheese cubes, pretzel crisps, grapes, apple slices, and almonds.
  2. Tortilla pizza, carrot and bell pepper sticks, grapes, and fruit snacks.
  3. Pita bread, cucumber slices, chicken salad cup, and string cheese.
  4. Hard boiled eggs, mini banana muffins, and sliced strawberries.
  5. Mini pancakes, sausage link, yogurt, blueberries, and fruit snacks.
  6. Sliced deli meat, cheese slices, apple slices, sweet potato chips, and a sea salt caramel rice cake.
  7. Pickle slices, cheese crackers, peanut butter and jelly, and trail mix.
  8. Ham, cheese & spinach roll-ups with popcorn, grapes, and carrot sticks.
  9. Chicken and cheese quesadilla, edamame, orange slices, and M&Ms.
  10. Peanut butter and banana roll-up, cantaloupe cubes, celery and bell pepper sticks, and hummus.
