Let us set the scene for you. The kids come home from school. It’s a nice warm fall day, and they’re asking for a snack. Why not make a fun, cool treat and enjoy some snow cones at home?! You suggest it to the kids. They’re excited, and you start gathering the supplies. You get your machine, your ice, your cups, and then you go to the pantry to get out the syrup. Oh no! There’s no syrup left!

Homemade Snow Cone Syrup
Don’t worry! It is actually very easy to make your own homemade syrup. All you’ll need is sugar and some Kool-Aid (even lemonade mix can work, too).
  1. Bring ¾ of a cup of water and ¾ of a cup of sugar to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle in Kool-Aid. Be sure to add the Kool-Aid slowly or you might get clumps.
  4. Stir to dissolve completely.
  5. Pour Kool-Aid syrup into a bottle.
  6. Place in refrigerator to chill.
  7. Shave ice into cups or bowls using your Hawaiian Shaved Ice Brand electric shaved ice machine or snow cone machine.
  8. Pour your chilled homemade syrup over top.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
Of course, don’t forget to order syrups to refill your cabinets! We’ve got some great flavors that are perfect for fall.
