What is pomegranate?
Pomegranate is a fruit roughly the size of a large orange and is covered in a thick skin ranging in color from brownish yellow to deep red. The inside of the pomegranate consists of chambers separated by white membranes. Within each chamber are bunches of bright, red edible seeds.

The pomegranate is native from Iran to India and has been cultivated since ancient times throughout the Mediterranean region of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It is predominantly grown in Egypt, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, India, Burma, and Saudi Arabia.

Pomegranate juice is actually quite a popular juice drink - a distinctly tart berry flavor with a light crispness.
